Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support project teams across power, process, corporate, healthcare, and other facilities, under supervision of a licensed PE. You will help develop designs and adjust civil plans within budget and client needs.

Responsibilities include assisting in design from concept to completion, reviewing drawings, preparing data and reports, assisting with client presentations, field measurements, and supporting contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET preferred).
• Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in civil design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for various facilities.
• Assist in designing civil components per project manager guidance.
• Apply basic civil engineering concepts per codes and procedures.
• Research and compile project data and studies.
• Assist with client presentations and contract administration.
• Assist in field inspections, measurements or calculations.
