Job summary

Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center in Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom where children develop essential skills.

You will assist with play-based lesson plans, supervise students, and help maintain a safe, organized space. Strong teamwork, communication, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS Assistant Teacher qualification requirements.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 65lbs.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Minnesota's early learning standards.
• Supervise and engage with students to ensure safety and participation.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment; support conflict resolution and routines.
• Communicate professionally with families during drop-off/pick-up and via the Parent Communication app.
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to share ideas and best practices.
