Job summary

East Side House Settlement (ESH) is seeking an Assistant Director for the SONYC Programs in New York City. You will support the Program Director, supervise staff, and ensure inclusive, engaging, and outcome-based youth programming across multiple sites.

The role requires an Associate's degree and 1+ years of related experience; bilingual Spanish/English is preferred. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and Facilities to meet daily program needs and participate in planning and agency-wide

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required; equivalent of 1+ years of experience in youth services or community programming accepted.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff and support team performance.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Director in day-to-day oversight of program operations across youth, adult, and intergenerational components.
  • Serve as on-site lead during program hours, ensuring safety and engagement.
  • Supervise staff and interns to ensure high-quality programming and provide coaching.
  • Assist with staff onboarding, orientation, and team huddles.
  • Coordinate calendar logistics, outreach, and family engagement activities.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance across DYCD Connect and related logs.
