Job summary

East Side House in the Bronx, NY is seeking a Program Director for the Early Childhood Education & Elementary Division. You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, ensure DYCD and DOH compliance, and lead age-appropriate programming for elementary participants and community members.

Reporting to Senior Director, you will recruit and develop staff, manage budgets, build community partnerships, and coordinate events, trainings, and family workshops while maintaining safe, inclusive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience in the field.
Experience with budget management, compliance, and structured youth programming.
Knowledge of Bronx communities; NYCHA or DYCD program experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of youth and adult programs, including evenings, weekends, and summer.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise staff.
Monitor performance and ensure compliance with DYCD goals and contractual requirements.
Conduct staff evaluations, coaching, and monthly professional development.
Oversee design and delivery of age-appropriate programming focused on academics, recreation, and workforce readiness.
