Job summary

East Side House Settlement is seeking a Program Director to lead the Early Childhood Education & Elementary Division at the Mott Haven Community Center. You will oversee daily operations, staff, and compliance, ensuring safe and inclusive programming for elementary-age participants.

The role requires collaboration with HR, Finance, IT, and other departments, plus budget management and partnerships with community stakeholders. Immediate start, full-time, on-site in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years field experience.
• Budget management, compliance, and structured youth programming.
• Knowledge of Bronx communities; NYCHA or DYCD program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of youth and adult programs.
• Recruit, hire, schedule, onboard, and supervise staff.
• Monitor performance and ensure DYCD compliance with goals and standards.
• Conduct staff evaluations and lead monthly professional development sessions.
• Oversee engaging, age-appropriate programming in academics, recreation, and workforce readiness.
• Manage program budget, purchase orders, and timely reporting.
