Job summary

University of the Pacific seeks an Assistant Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning to lead teaching initiatives across three campuses. You will design programs, consult with faculty, and advance inclusive, evidence-based pedagogy to enhance student success.

Collaborate with the CTL director and academic partners to foster teaching communities, develop resources, and contribute to strategic planning in higher education pedagogy while modeling equitable practices and inclusive

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an academic discipline.
• Two years designing and facilitating educational development programs for university faculty.
• Two years of demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
• Preferred: Doctorate or terminal degree in a STEM field.
• Commitment to evidence-based, inclusive pedagogy.
• Ability to lead collaborations across multiple campuses.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the CTL director, faculty, and partners across three campuses to build teaching-focused communities.
• Designs and facilitates workshops, book clubs, and course design retreats to promote student-centered instruction.
• Supports STEM teaching through evidence-based practices and course design.
• Conducts confidential teaching consultations and classroom observations.
• Develops on-demand resources and contributes to strategic planning for educational development.
• Keeps current with higher education pedagogy and advances DEI in teaching.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
