Job summary

CSUMB’s Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment seeks a Teaching & Learning Specialist to advance faculty development and inclusive teaching practices across departments. The role includes observing classrooms, designing teaching materials, and coordinating programs that improve student learning outcomes.

The position entails collaboration with deans, chairs, and program faculty, plus leading initiatives in assessment, grants, and lecturer programs while staying current on pedagogy

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an education-related discipline/field.
• Five years of undergraduate teaching experience.
• Evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching.
• Interest in undergraduate education and faculty development.
• Leadership in pedagogy areas (e.g., Reading Apprenticeship, Culturally Responsive Teaching).

Responsibilities

• Plan, support, and run faculty development programs and learning communities.
• Collaborate on teaching initiatives across departments.
• Meet with faculty, observe classrooms, and design/testing new teaching strategies.
• Support planning with leadership to determine teaching support needs.
• Coordinate faculty newsletters and campus communications.
