Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana's Indianapolis Campus seeks an Assistant Director of Student Organizations to oversee all student organizations (excluding SGA). The role partners with student leaders, faculty advisors, and campus departments to foster inclusive, vibrant programming and leadership development.

You will lead event planning, resource allocation, and learning-outcome assessment while ensuring FERPA compliance and collaboration with SCORE and TAB Recreation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, event management, or related field.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with multitasking ability.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of risk management in student activities and events.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends for programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recognition and registration of new student organizations.
• Develop online resources for organization leadership and advisors.
• Plan programs and initiatives supporting growth of organizations.
• Coordinate involvement fairs, orientation, training retreats, and recognition ceremonies.
• Lead SCORE collaboration with TAB Recreation.
• Advise engaged students and assist with learning outcomes assessment.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and FERPA.
• Offer one‑on‑one and group advising sessions.
• Manage resources and facilities funding for activities.
• Maintain the master student organization programming calendar.
• Coordinate event planning for conferences, panels, and career presentations.
