Job summary

Susquehanna University seeks an Assistant Director of Student Accounts to lead billing, reconciliation, and student account management within the Student Financial Services team.

You will supervise the Student Account Specialist, coordinate with Finance, Admissions, Registrar, and IT to ensure accurate charges, timely collections, and compliant processes; some evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of regulations related to student financial aid and student accounts receivable.
• Proven skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and families in-person, on the phone or via email.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret data and solve problems within established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure revenue and student charges are accurately accounted for within Ellucian Colleague.
• Develops and implements policies for efficient student account management in compliance with regulations.
• Lead testing of patches and upgrades to Ellucian Colleague and assist with new functionalities.
• Supervise the Student Account Specialist and collaborate with Finance, Admissions and Registrar.
• Coordinate with external vendors for billing, statements, and collections.
• Oversee 1098-T processing and annual tax forms.
• Prepare weekly reports on refunds in coordination with Accounts Payable.
• Provide analyses related to student account receivables and bad debt reserves.
