Job summary

Lake County Department of Human Services (DHS) seeks an Assistant Director of Programs and Operations to lead complex programs and collaborate with the Human Services Director on policy decisions. Responsible for implementing policy from the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and State of Colorado, with a focus on improving outcomes for individuals and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with emphasis in Human Services, Public Administration, Social Work, and/or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience as a manager, supervisor, or lead.
• Experience in Human Services in Child Welfare and Eligibility programs preferred.
• State training for Benefits Eligibility and Child Welfare will be provided within the first year.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional-level support to the Director in external-facing programs and services.
• Sources and Manages Grant Opportunities for the department.
• Manages contracts with vendors and external services with the finance team.
• Monitors program performance and ensures state and federal compliance.
• Plans long-range goals and coordinates DHS division activities.
