Job summary

Douglas County Housing Partnership (DCHP) is seeking a Deputy Director to serve as second-in-command and internal operating leader in Lone Tree, Colorado. This role will supervise managers and direct reports, translate strategy into clear work plans, and guide day-to-day operations for a multi-jurisdictional housing authority.

You will lead across Housing Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Housing Counseling, ensuring targeted outcomes, strong governance, and alignment with HUD and state

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in lending, community development, housing finance, or related work, or an equivalent combination totaling at least ten years.
• At least five years of experience leading and managing others.
• Experience in strategic and annual planning, KPI management, budgeting, and expense management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, project management software, accounting systems, and other agency operations software.
• Strong written and verbal communication, time management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Colorado-driver’s license required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day internal operations, supervising managers and direct reports, and translating strategy into work plans.
• Oversee operating, financial, and capital performance of the affordable housing portfolio.
• Ensure agency-wide compliance with HUD/state/funder requirements and address monitoring or audit findings.
• Drive HR administration, manager coaching, and a culture of compassionate accountability.
• Coordinate cross-division activities, workload planning, and deadline tracking across the agency.
