Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. in Maine is seeking an Assistant Director to support the Maine Advocate Program Director with hiring, training, supervising staff, and reporting weekly performance.

The role emphasizes strength-based, culturally competent, unconditional care. Responsibilities include intakes, staffing coordination, and ensuring compliance with program requirements while supporting families and group work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree generally preferred; commensurate experience acceptable.
• At least one year managing personnel and budgets.
• Experience with at risk youth, probation, court liaison is a plus.
• Requires reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.
• Flexible schedule; evenings and weekends may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform intakes and coordinate participant staffing to manage weekly services.
• Supervise staff, motivate teams, and train new employees.
• Communicate weekly performance to the Program Director.
• Ensure compliance with YAP and referring authorities.
• Coordinate with families and provide group work as needed.
• Support budget and resource planning.
