OVERVIEW The Assistant Director of Short-Term & Summer Study Abroad Programs supports the study abroad team within Notre Dame Global at the University of Notre Dame. This role focuses on implementing strategy and operations for short-term and summer study abroad programs while supporting students throughout the study process. The position includes advising, recruitment, program coordination, and conducting orientations and assessments connected to global learning experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Implement strategy and operations plans for short-term and summer study abroad programs
- Recruit, select, and prepare students for study abroad opportunities
- Conduct pre-departure orientations for students participating in programs abroad
- Provide advising sessions related to program selection and applications
- Conduct reentry debriefings for returning students
- Maintain program records and documentation
- Advise students on study abroad program options and application processes
- Collaborate with academic departments and faculty members
- Assist with budgets related to study abroad programs
- Coordinate marketing and communications efforts for global programs
- Plan information sessions for students interested in study abroad
- Conduct program assessments and evaluations
- Support additional study abroad initiatives and projects
Requirements
- Experience supporting or coordinating study abroad programs
- Ability to provide advising to students regarding program selection and applications
- Experience conducting orientations, information sessions, or debriefings
- Ability to collaborate with academic departments and faculty
- Organizational skills related to maintaining program records and assisting with budgets
- Communication skills for marketing, outreach, and student engagement
