Job summary

AristaCare Health Services seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading our nursing department and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and collaborative leadership within our facility.

The ADON will oversee daily nursing operations, staff training, recruitment, and competency evaluations while ensuring staffing adequacy and effective communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Jersey.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience in LTC or sub-acute setting.
• PCC certification.
• Infection Prevention (IP) experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing and managing daily nursing operations.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of resident-centered care.
• Support infection control oversight and regulatory readiness.
• Plan, organize, and conduct staff training programs and clinical in-services.
• Maintain effective communication across all levels of nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet resident care needs.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
• Oversee staff competency evaluations and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
