Aventura at Shiloh Springs is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join their team!

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients/residents on a designated unit (sub-acute or dementia care) on a shift basis.
  2. Identifies patient/resident care needs and provides direct nursing care according to the individual plan of care and as directed by immediate supervisor.
  3. Establishes and maintains a positive rapport with patients/residents, family members, visitors, etc., in providing direct nursing care.
  4. Completes all activities of daily living; e.g., bathing, feeding, grooming, dressing, toileting, etc., in accordance with established policies, procedures, and prescribed timeframes.
  5. Properly answers call bells in a timely fashion for assigned patients/residents and any others on the unit.
  6. Reports any suspected or actual patient/resident neglect to immediate supervisor promptly.
  7. Responds quickly to emergency patient/resident situations, notifying immediate supervisor as required.
  8. Collaborates effectively with the care team to create a warm, positive environment.
  9. Completes required documentation on daily flow sheets.

Dependent upon specific unit assignment, duties may include:

  1. Coordinating daily care plans with team leaders and documenting accordingly.
  2. Managing rest periods and activities around appointments and therapies.
  3. Assisting with admissions, vital signs, inventory, and labeling belongings.
  4. Maintaining precautions for specific diagnoses.
  5. Adhering to safety and infection control policies, including universal precautions and hazard reporting.
  6. Participating in performance improvement activities and committees.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Nurse in good standing with applicable licensure.
  • Experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations governing long-term care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise and instruct others.
  • Positive attitude towards the elderly.
  • English language proficiency.
