Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in reshaping the nursing team, staffing structures, and leading change management at our Illinois long‑term care facility. The ADON will supervise clinical initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and enhance patient satisfaction while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Illinois with long‑term care experience.
• Previous nurse supervisor experience.
• Expertise in staff education and change management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day‑to‑day functions of the nursing department in accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
• Work alongside the QA Nurse to develop, maintain, and implement the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and periodically updating resident discharge plans.
• Perform administrative duties, including completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting, as necessary throughout the day.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Requirements:

• Licensed as an RN in the state of Illinois
• Previous experience in a long‑term care facility
• Previous nurse supervisor experience
• Expertise in staff education and change management
