Job summary

Extended Care LLC is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in reshaping the nursing team, staffing structures, and driving changes in a long-term care facility in Illinois. The ADON will oversee clinical initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and focus on mentorship and staff development to boost morale.

Ideal candidates are licensed RNs in Illinois with prior long-term care and nurse supervisory experience, and a proven ability to lead education

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Illinois.
• Previous experience in a long-term care facility.
• Previous nurse supervisor experience.
• Expertise in staff education and change management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
• Work alongside the QA Nurse to develop and implement the facility’s quality assurance program.
• Assist in developing and updating resident discharge plans.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Requirements:

• Licensed as an RN in the state of Illinois
• Previous experience in a long-term care facility
• Previous nurse supervisor experience
• Expertise in staff education and change management

As an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will:

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department in accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
• Work alongside the QA Nurse to develop, maintain, and implement the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and periodically updating resident discharge plans.
• Perform administrative duties, including completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting, as necessary throughout the day.
