Job summary

NDM Hospitality Services in Kissimmee, Florida seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering for our resort to lead and mentor the engineering team, oversee preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and operational reliability.

This role collaborates with the Director of Engineering on budgets, capital projects, energy efficiency initiatives, and vendor management to uphold brand standards and guest comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's in engineering, facilities management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive maintenance/engineering in hotel/resort or large commercial facility, with 2+ years in supervision.
• Trade license or certification (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or Chief Engineer) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and supervise the engineering staff across all shifts.
• Oversee daily maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, laundry, pools/spas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Manage PM programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, elevators, boilers, chillers, and pool/water systems.
• Respond to and resolve guest-impacting maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling department expenses, labor, and inventory.
• Coordinate outside contractors and vendors for repairs and capital projects.
• Ensure OSHA, fire/life safety, environmental, and brand standards compliance.
• Maintain records of inspections, permits, equipment logs, and safety documentation.
• Participate in energy management and sustainability initiatives.
