Job summary

San Diego Mission Bay Resort, part of Noble House Hotels & Resorts, seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to lead a diverse team and work closely with the Director of Engineering. The role combines hands-on field work with strategic leadership to maintain and elevate the 18-acre property and guest experience.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 year building maintenance experience.
• Good computer skills.
• Prior experience leading teams in a multi-faceted hotel or resort operation is required.
• Experience in a union environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute proactive Preventive Maintenance programs while responding efficiently to guest, member, and employee service needs.
• Recruit, train, develop, and motivate a diverse engineering team, including HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, painters, and general maintenance professionals.
• Actively support and advance the resort’s Green Initiative, identifying innovative strategies to reduce environmental impact.
• Elevate overall property condition, safety, and guest experience through attention to detail and team collaboration.
• Foster a positive, high-energy work environment that balances professionalism with fun.
