Job summary

Star Island Management Corp in Kissimmee, FL is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee daily engineering operations of the resort and lead a team of technicians.

You will manage safety compliance, vendor relationships, and capital projects while aligning with corporate standards and budgets. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to quality and service excellence at the resort.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with all maintenance trades required.
• Certificates or Licenses: HVAC, Valid Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Knowledge of all maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, as well as the related use of hand and power tools.
• Skills in the use of related tools including hand and power tools.
• Mathematical skills necessary to perform job duties.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and push/pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk around a large resort for the majority of the work period.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at height up to 30 feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Request and receive bids for presentation to resort management.
• Support and implement resort management strategic initiatives and programs.
• Identify areas of process improvement and leverage best practices with departments.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, supervises and serves as a supporting role planning, organization, and direction for the engineering department the most efficient and effective manner possible, while maintaining the company’s expected high quality standards. Oversee daily operations of the engineering department; provide supervision and direction of Engineering Technicians; perform safety inspections; maintain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and all safety regulations.
