Job summary

Manor Vail Lodge in Colorado seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to partner with the Director of Engineering. You will lead the engineering team, supervise staff, oversee preventive maintenance, and manage capital projects across the property including the Golden Peak building.

This hands-on leadership role requires coordinating vendor relationships, responding to after-hours emergencies, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, Colorado labor laws, ADA, and local codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical or trade school training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
• Two years of engineering or maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, or luxury property.
• Supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
• CPO certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) required for handling refrigerants.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Engineering staff and budget.
• Direct, train, schedule, and supervise engineering staff.
• Resolve guest and owner maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for MEP and life-safety systems.
• Manage EMS and building automation systems.
• Assist in annual operating and capital budgets and timelines.
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships, bids and invoices.
• Lead after-hours emergencies and incident management.
