Hannibal Regional is seeking an Assistant Director of Materials Management to lead daily operations across the Materials Management function within the healthcare system, coordinating with campus sites to support patient care.

You will develop policies, drive performance improvements, and mentor staff, while ensuring budgeting, supplier relations, and data analysis inform decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is required.
  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Certified Materials and Resources Professional (CMRP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is required or must be obtained within one year of start date.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement within a healthcare setting.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing a team or department.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Operations: Understanding of healthcare delivery systems, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Supply Chain/Materials Management Knowledge: Proficiency in inventory management, purchasing, and supplier relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Software: Experience with inventory management systems, healthcare information systems, and standard office software (e.g., MS Office).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and trends to optimize inventory and improve efficiency.
  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of budgeting and financial management related to materials costs and expenditures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for collaboration with clinical and administrative staff.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative interdepartmental working relationships.
  • Ability to build teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of all Materials Management functions within the healthcare system.

Job description

The Assistant Director of Materials Management is responsible for the daily operations of all functions assigned by the Materials Management Director within the Healthcare System. The Assistant Director will be assigned all Materials Management responsibilities for selected campuses within the Healthcare System. The Assistant Director of Materials Management assists in integrating the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures that guide or support services, assesses and improves department performance, and ensures orientation and continuing education of departmental staff as assigned. This person may recommend resources/space needed by the department and may participate in the selection of outside services with the Director of Materials Management.
