Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Supply Operations Supervisor to assist and support management of supply operations and personnel. The role involves developing and implementing supply chain policies for procurement and distribution of medical supplies for patients and staff, under the Director of Materials Management.

You will supervise Materials personnel, make operational decisions, and guide the department to ensure efficient service, cost control, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business or a related field.
• MS/MBA with 4 years’ experience preferred; BS with 6 years’ experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Monitors supply needs and helps develop improvements with measurable goals.
• Contributes to positive work environment and team effort.
• Maintains perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment used in patient care.
• Oversees the operation of materials management and assists staff and customers for efficiency.
• Assists with quality assurance procedures, conducts audits and documents activities.
• Supports Director of Materials Management with budgetary analysis and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Communicates with staff and key customers to improve satisfaction.
• Performs related accountability and responsibilities as required or directed.
• Participates in hospital committees/functions as required by the Hospital.
• Manages supply chain logistics of stock and non-stock items; liaises with vendors and corporate purchasing.

Overview

Responsible for assisting and supporting the management of Supply operations and personnel, for the development and implementation of Supply chain policies and procedures for procurement and distribution of medical supplies and equipment for patients and employees under the general supervision of the Director of Materials management, responsible for the supervision of the Materials personnel, operational decisions and departmental guidance.

Responsibilities

• Monitors supply needs of customers and assists in developing improvement plans with measurable goals to enhance services.
• Contributes to a positive work environment and overall team effort of the Department.
• Assists in maintaining perpetual Inventory of supplies and equipment used in patient care.
• Assists with overall operation of materials management departments and works with staff and customers to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
• Assists with/develops and monitors quality assurance procedures, conducts audits and maintains documentation.
• Assists Director of Materials Management with overall financial/budgetary management of the department through analysis of departmental operations and identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
• Communicates and interacts with staff and key customers to improve customer satisfaction.
• Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
• Participates in assigned committees/functions as required by the Hospital
• Responsible for supply chain logistics of stock and non-stock supply items, act as liaison between hospital, vendors and corporate purchasing.

Education

• Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
• Preferred/Desired: M.S./M.B.A. with 4 years’ experience. B.S. with 6 years’ experience.
