Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking an Assistant Director for the School of Hebrew and the School of Abenaki to manage admissions, enrollment, and student advising. The role also plans all Language School sessions, collaborates with Directors, and directs program operations during sessions.

The position directs administrative functions, supervises staff, and provides policy guidance on ADA, DEI, Title IX, and FERPA while offering operational support to related Schools.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Make admissions decisions (approve or deny) for applicants in consultation with the Director/Dean.
• Advise students on admission, enrollment, financial aid, program structure, pre-attendance requirements, and student services.
• Plan and organize all Language School sessions with the Director.
• Direct operational/administrative functions of the Language School during sessions.
• Supervise and train non-academic staff.
• Advise Directors and faculty on ADA, DEI, Title IX, FERPA, and academic policies; liaison with supporting offices.
• Provide operational/technical support to Schools in areas such as IT, housing, scheduling, LS doctoral degree, and Dean’s Office assistance.
