Job summary

Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a visionary Assistant Head of School for Academic Programs/Dean of Faculty to translate the school’s mission into curricular and faculty life. You will shape curricula, lead through collaboration with department chairs, and ensure rigorous, student-centered academic experiences across the campus.

Qualifications

• Significant, sustained classroom teaching experience.
• Experience in a boarding school environment, preferably at the secondary level; residential experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory and personnel management experience, including staffing and budget responsibility.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be on call during interim periods.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term academic direction and policies for NMH.
• Lead faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation.
• Oversee scheduling and academic operations across divisions.
• Collaborate with department chairs, campus life, HR, and senior leadership.
• Represent NMH’s academic program with the Board of Trustees.
