Job summary

The Ohio State University in Columbus seeks an accomplished scholar and leader to serve as Assistant Director for Community Outreach and Engagement within the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control. This tenure-track faculty role will advance community-engaged research, health equity, and population health with bi-directional community partnerships across Ohio.

Qualifications

• PhD, DrPH, MD, DO, DNP, PharmD, PsyD, or other terminal degree in public health, behavioral science, implementation science, epidemiology, health services research, social sciences, medicine, nursing, or a related field.
• Eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
• Nationally recognized record of scholarship in community-engaged research, cancer prevention and control, health equity, implementation science, population health, or related disciplines.
• Record of extramural funding as Principal Investigator or Multi-Principal Investigator.
• Experience working with community organizations and diverse populations.
• Experience leading multi-sector partnerships and collaborative research initiatives.
• Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for Community Outreach and Engagement.
• Support COE goals aligned with CCSG requirements.
• Build infrastructure for bi-directional engagement between communities and researchers.
• Promote integration of community priorities into cancer center planning and research activities.
• Represent the cancer center in statewide and national community engagement efforts when needed.
• Foster partnerships with healthcare systems, advocacy groups, schools and universities, government agencies, employer organizations, and patient groups.
• Support Community Advisory Boards and COE stakeholder councils.
• Advance community-engaged research and participatory approaches.
