Job summary

St. John's University Career Services seeks two Assistant Directors for Career Advising to advance student readiness and success across undergraduate and graduate levels.

They will deliver individual and group coaching, develop education content, and cultivate faculty and alumni partnerships. These roles support a centralized team and may offer partial remote work after orientation, with typical in-office presence during semesters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years in career services, HR, career coaching, or related field.
• Excellent resume, interviewing and job search skills.
• Collaborative, self-directed, outcome oriented, able to manage multiple projects.
• Strong customer service for internal and external constituents.
• Familiarity with labor market trends and higher education.
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Experience teaching, training, or facilitating workshops.
• Some local travel and evening/weekend work required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group advisement to undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni.
• Develop and lead career education content and programs with faculty and alumni.
• Collaborate with colleges and departments to embed resources across campus.
• Leverage AI, data, and labor market insights for timely guidance.
• Support equity access and campus career ecosystem within Career Services.
• Assist with travel and evening/weekend events as needed.
