Job summary

The University of Scranton is seeking an Assistant Director of Career Development to spearhead career coaching and education initiatives for undergraduates, graduates, and alumni. You will lead a team of staff and interns, promoting a holistic, values‑driven approach aligned with the Jesuit mission.

Reporting to the Director, you will develop a comprehensive career readiness framework, oversee assessment and outcomes, and partner with faculty and employers to expand internships and post‑graduate

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, higher education, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education, counseling, or student affairs.
• Experience in career services, career coaching, or workforce development preferred.
• Direct experience in a college or university setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience, including staff development and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Leads the Center's career coaching and career education functions with vision and strategic direction.
• Hires, trains, and mentors graduate-level career coaches and undergrad interns.
• Assist the Director in implementing a compelling Center vision aligned with the University mission.
• Develop and assess a comprehensive career education and readiness framework.
• Provide individual and group career coaching using evidence-based approaches.
• Utilize the career management system for document reviews, scheduling, and events.
• Represent the Center to faculty, employers, alumni, and community partners.
• Cultivate relationships to stay current on industry trends and workforce needs.
• Conduct assessment and data analysis to inform continuous improvement and planning.
• Make recommendations on staffing, technologies, and innovations in career development.
• Coordinate selective internship program, including fundraising and reporting.
