Job summary

The University of St. Thomas is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics Operations & Campus Recreation to oversee daily operations of the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex (AARC) on the St. Paul campus.

You will manage facilities, events, and intramural programs, while coordinating staff and collaborations with campus units. Reporting to the Director of Athletic Events and Operations, you will hire and train student workers, supervise operations, and help drive programming that serves

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of relevant experience in collegiate athletics.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and select holidays.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse teams.
• Experience in social media content creation and engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex and other facilities, including scheduling and access control.
• Hire, train, supervise student employees (front desk, lifeguards, operations crews).
• Oversee Intramural Sports Program, scheduling, programming, and supervision of student staff.
• Program recreation and aquatics events (open recreation, fitness classes, swim lessons).
• Assist with facility maintenance, SOPs, EAPs, and cross-unit collaboration for safe operation.
• Manage events and operations logistics, visiting team guides, parking, and Perry Weather-related tasks; support external rentals.
