Job summary

St. John's University is seeking an Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations to lead day-to-day management of eight athletic facilities on the Queens Campus. The role coordinates event scheduling, staffing, and preparation for Division I competitions and campus events.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of related experience, strong communication and leadership abilities, and a valid driver's license. Travel to events is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel for events.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of 8 athletic facilities and scheduling for programs and events.
• Oversee all events in athletic facilities and coordinate with Public Safety, Facilities, Food Services, Grounds, IT and other departments.
• Lead staff including graduate assistants, interns, student workers and event staff; handle hiring, training and payroll.
• Maintain electronic equipment and transport assets; coordinate vehicle bookings and maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate event operations before, during and after athletic events.
• Ensure staffing coverage and safety protocols for competitions and practices.
