Job summary

Grand Avenue Preschool in Western Springs, IL is seeking an Assistant Director who can lead with energy and dedication. The role focuses on supporting the Director, guiding teachers, and ensuring compliance with state regulations while delivering high-quality early childhood education.

Qualified candidates will hold IL Director Qualification and have prior lead teacher experience in a licensed childcare setting; managerial skills are highly preferred.

• Provide guidance to teachers for curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom organization.
• Establish professional and supportive relationships with parents and employees.

in Western Springs is seeking an Assistant Director! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic leader in training who is passionate about early childhood education.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require IL Director Qualification and previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility as a Lead Teacher. Strong preference to have managerial/leadership experience in a childcare setting.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, Full-time, 9am-6pm

Compensation: $25 - $26/hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with developing and executing an on-going program of activities that contribute to the care, growth and development of the children and staff.

• Provide guidance to teachers for creative curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom organization.
• Establish professional and supportive relationships with parents and employees connected to the operation of the center.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
