Job summary

Grand Avenue Preschool in Western Springs is seeking an Assistant Director to join our family-oriented childcare team. This self-motivated leader in training will support the Director to oversee daily operations, programs, and staff development while ensuring high-quality early childhood education.

Qualified candidates must have IL Director Qualification and prior licensed childcare experience as a Lead Teacher; managerial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• IL Director Qualification required.
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare facility as a Lead Teacher.
• Managerial/leadership experience in childcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with developing and executing an on-going program of activities for children and staff growth.
• Assist with enrollment activities, including tours and distribution of marketing materials.
• Assist with ensuring all State and Company Regulations are followed using Licensing Checks.
• Provide guidance to teachers for curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom organization.
• Establish professional relationships with parents and employees connected to the center.
• Physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.

Grand Avenue Preschool in Western Springs is seeking a n Assistant Director! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic leader in training who is passionate about early childhood education.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require IL Director Qualification and previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility as a Lead Teacher. Strong preference to have managerial/leadership experience in a childcare setting.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, Full-time, 9am-6pm

Compensation: $25 - $26/hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director with developing and executing an on-going program of activities that contribute to the care, growth and development of the children and staff.
• Assist the Director with enrollment activities, including tours, distribution of marketing materials to potential families.
• Assist the Director with ensuring all State and Company Regulations are always being followed using Licensing Checks.
• Provide guidance to teachers for creative curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom organization.
• Establish professional and supportive relationships with parents and employees connected to the operation of the center.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
