Job summary

The Growing Years in Clayton, NC is seeking an Assistant Director, a self-motivated and energetic leader in training who is passionate about early childhood education.

The role supports the Center Director by guiding program development, assisting with enrollment activities, promoting a positive learning environment, and ensuring compliance with state licensing and company policies. A Level III administrator and a bachelor's degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a relevant field.
• Experience in a licensed childcare facility in a leadership/administrative capacity.
• Must hold Level III administrator qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with developing and executing ongoing activities for child growth and staff development.
• Assist with enrollment activities, tours, and distributing marketing materials.
• Ensure compliance with state and company regulations via licensing checks.
• Provide guidance to teachers on curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom organization.
• Build professional relationships with parents and employees connected to the operation of the center.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

Job description

The Growing Years is a licensed childcare center seeking an Assistant Director! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic leader in training who is passionate about early childhood education.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a completed bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a relevant field and previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility in a leadership, management, or administrative capacity.

Applicants must be a Level III administrator in order to be qualified for the opportunity.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, ability to open or close when needed

Compensation: $21-$26 per hour, based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process:

1. Resume screen
2. Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes)
3. On-site interview with Center Director (60 minutes)
4. Virtual Interview with Regional Director (45-60 minutes)

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director with developing and executing an on-going program of activities that contribute to the care, growth and development of the children and staff.
• Assist the Director with enrollment activities, including tours, distribution of marketing materials to potential families.
• Assist the Director with ensuring all State and Company Regulations are always being followed using Licensing Checks.
• Provide guidance to teachers for creative curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom organization.
• Establish professional and supportive relationships with parents and employees connected to the operation of the center.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running and climbing stairs.
