Job summary

Tangled Roots Brewing Co. is looking for an Assistant Culinary Manager to oversee kitchen functions and support the Culinary Manager. This role involves managing daily operations, mentoring team members, and ensuring high standards of food quality and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Preferred Culinary leadership / management experience.
• ServSafe Manager Food Handler and Allergen Certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Culinary Manager with Recruiting, Training, and Managing the Back-of-House Team Members.
• Manage day-to-day operations and act as a second-in-command.
• Lead and Mentor team members to adhere to TRBC Culture and Values.
• Support inventory management and stock ordering.
• Monitor and adjust menu items for quality and cost control.
• Perform administrative duties and ensure optimal guest satisfaction.

The Role

Under the direction of the Culinary Manager, the Assistant Culinary Manager will be responsible for kitchen functions in the absence of the Culinary Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Culinary Manager with Recruiting, Training, and Managing the Back-of-House Team Members.
• Manage day-to-day operations and act as a second-in-command in a Culinary Manager’s absence.
• Lead and Mentor team members to understand and adhere to TRBC Culture and Values.
• Empower the team through growth opportunities within the Company.
• Support inventory management, stock ordering, and maintenance of an accurate inventory.
• Monitor and adjust menu items, observing portion sizes and recipe adherence to ensure quality and cost control.
• Participate in food cost and labor cost management.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Know restaurant standards and hold employees accountable for consistently meeting these standards.
• Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics aligned with TRBC Values, which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards.
• Ensure optimal guest satisfaction with food quality.
• Execute the highest health code and sanitation standards.
• Follow TRBC Assistant Culinary Manager Area of Responsibilities.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and at least 1+ year(s) of experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Preferred Culinary leadership / management experience.
• A strong customer service focus along with effective communication and time-management skills are necessary to be successful in this role.
• ServSafe Manager Food Handler and Allergen Certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10–30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for the entirety of your scheduled shift.
• Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
