Job summary

A respected finance organization in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead the monthly finance processes, manage audits, and support financial planning. This full-time role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and CPA certification preferred. Benefits include medical coverage and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in accounting roles.
• Must currently reside in Atlanta area.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort with large, complex data sets.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and streamline the monthly close process.
• Provide oversight for accounts payable and receivable operations.
• Manage the annual external audit process.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on financial planning, performance and strategy.
• Deliver insights and analysis to support business decisions.
• Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning with FP&A.

• Direct and streamline the monthly close process to ensure financial precision and timely reporting
• Provide oversight for all accounts payable and receivable operations
• Manage the annual external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with auditors
• Work closely with senior leadership on financial planning, performance, and strategy
• Deliver financial insights and analysis that directly support business decision-making
• Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning efforts alongside the FP&A team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership experience in accounting roles, ideally as an Assistant Controller, Controller, or Accounting Manager
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large, complex data sets
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
• Must currently reside in Atlanta area (no relocation)
