Job summary

Aduro Advisors seeks bright individuals to join our team supporting top-tier ventures in the Venture Capital & Private Equity space as Assistant Controllers. The role balances preparer and reviewer duties across multiple clients and emphasizes practical technical excellence.

You will work with a dedicated team, handling client relationships, month-end closes, and investment accounting in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment across the US.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the alternative asset industry, Venture Capital or Private Equity preferred.
• In-depth understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting including complex allocation waterfalls.
• Experience in a client-facing role leading engagements on multiple clients.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a customer-service mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Xero or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for multiple clients and manage workflow among team members.
• Set up and run recurring client check-in calls and report on status, open items, and upcoming needs.
• Respond to ad-hoc client requests within Aduro processes and industry best practices.
• Reconcile banking transactions, prepare journal entries and maintain ledgers under US GAAP.
• Drive month-end close and coordinate with seniors and clients on follow-ups.
• Coordinate preparation of audit materials and manage year-end financial statement and tax work.
