Job summary

TalentBridge is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its accounting leadership team in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and strengthening controls across a multi-entity environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and leadership capabilities to mentor staff and partner with senior finance leadership on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Approximately 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership/management roles.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, GL accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments preferred.
• Experience supporting external audits and working with auditors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
• Lead monthly and year-end close processes and consolidate activities.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and other key accounting activities.
• Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting.
• Establish and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; work with senior finance leadership on strategic initiatives.
