CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) is seeking an Assistant Controller for our Higher Education Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) Practice. This role supports clients by managing accounting functions, advising on best practices, and coordinating multiple engagements. Location opportunities include several U.S.

cities including Austin, TX. The candidate should have 6+ years of accounting experience, GAAP proficiency, and a Bachelor's degree, with familiarity in a range of major accounting software.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant accounting/financial experience.
• Experience in the Higher Education Industry preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required (Combination of related experience may be accepted).
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency with major accounting software listed in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Perform Assistant Controller functions for the client's accounting services team.
• Act as a consultant and advisor on accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Provide project management by handling multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and provide recommendations.
• Foster opportunities for clients, communities, and people.
• Attend industry events and trainings to stay current.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and current accounting standards.
