Job summary

MxV Rail is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. The role demands analytical thinking, integrity, and the ability to mentor and collaborate with the accounting team.

You will report to the Assistant Vice President, Business and Finance, and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of public accounting experience, including financial statement audits.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with government contracting regulations (FAR, DCAA).
• Experience with month-end and year-end close.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory compliance and audit management per GAAP, FAR, and related regulations.
• Assist with external audits, DCAA audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures; ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements and management reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and covenant reporting.
• Oversee reconciliations and general ledger postings; payroll backup.
