Job summary

Mindful Therapy Group in Mountlake Terrace, WA, seeks an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller in leading accounting operations for a growing mental health services company. The role combines hands-on ownership of monthly close, financial reporting, technical accounting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls with team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required or equivalent.
• CPA license or active progress toward CPA preferred.
• Five+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Two+ years supervising accounting staff or leading projects.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries preferred.
• Strong Excel and ERP reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and workpapers.
• Produce timely financial statements, variance analyses, and reports.
• Manage audits, tax planning, and multi-state compliance.
• Research technical U.S. GAAP matters and document conclusions.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and internal controls.
