Job summary

Solomon Page is partnering with a growing technology company to hire an Assistant Controller who will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and drive GAAP-compliant financial reporting. The role leads external audits, collaborates with cross-functional leaders, and develops the accounting team while shaping policies and controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership in a high-growth environment.
• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• Deep U.S. GAAP knowledge across technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proven experience managing external audits and implementing scalable finance systems.
• ERP experience (NetSuite preferred); advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close; ensure timely, accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting
• Oversee financial statements, reporting packages, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Research, document, and implement technical accounting guidance (equity, leases, software capitalization, foreign operations)
• Design and continuously improve accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance processes
• Lead accounting systems improvements and automation initiatives
• Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and tax advisors; oversee annual audits and support tax compliance
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and executive leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
