Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is hiring an Assistant Controller in Rockford, IL. This role supports the Controller in managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls within a construction environment.

The role partners with operations and leadership to provide financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and drive process improvements across the accounting function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction environments.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting integrity.
• Support project accounting, job costing, and cost-to-complete analyses.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX.
