Job summary

LHH is seeking an Assistant Controller for a high-growth medical device company in Plano, TX. This role leads the month-end close, GAAP reporting, and internal controls, partnering across functions to scale processes for growth. A CPA and 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership are required.

Hybrid work environment: four days in the office and one day work-from-home. ERP experience, with NetSuite preferred, and a hands-on leadership style to mentor staff and drive financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
• Background in consumer products, retail, or eCommerce environments is ideal.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax partners
• Manage fixed assets, cash flow forecasting, and overall financial controls
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, including sales and use tax
• Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls
• Partner cross-functionally to support business performance and reporting needs
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and SG&A spend controls
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
