Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and organized Assistant Controller to oversee the day-to-day operations of our accounting department. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a solid background in accounting principles, team leadership, and financial systems.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting team, including accounts payable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with USGAAP (or applicable standards for foreign subsidiaries).
- Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and support accounting staff; deliver performance evaluations.
- Work with external auditors to oversee the consolidated annual audit as well as international statutory audits.
- Own key financial systems, manage vendor relationships, oversee systems implementations and train end-users as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as HR and Operations to support business initiatives.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in financial operations.
- Oversee the integration of newly acquired businesses, from purchase accounting to the day-to-day integration efforts post-acquisition.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required, with CPA certification.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in eDiscovery is a plus.

Salary Description
$127,000 - $170,000 per year
