Job summary

Wisdom Teeth Guys is hiring an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in developing accounting policies and overseeing all financial procedures for our growing DSO. This fully remote role demands meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented candidates with strong GAAP knowledge.

The position involves monthly closes, financial statement preparation, intercompany transfers, PCI compliance, and collaboration with billing, marketing, and operations teams across Utah, Texas, and Arizona.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and accounting principles.
• Hands-on GL/AP/AR experience.
• Experience with monthly close and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
• Provide accounting support to departments and staff.
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
• Assist with monthly close and producing financial statements.
• Assist in startups of new markets and intercompany transfers.
• Manage merchant accounts reconciliation and PCI compliance.
• Coordinate with insurance claims team on claims funds reconciliation.
• Oversee petty cash, cash deposits, and funding sheets.
• Handle intercompany transfers and funding documentation.
• Manage equipment assets accounts and loans.
• Annually handle 1099s and unclaimed property.

Wisdom Teeth Guys is looking for an Assistant Controller to assist in the Controller developing accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures of our company!

Wisdom Teeth Guys is a rapidly expanding DSO (dental support organization) supporting practices in Utah, Texas and Arizona. We are the premier provider of support services for stand alone wisdom teeth removal clinics.

As Assistant Controller, you’ll assist in monitoring the company’s financial status and managing day to day accounting transactions.

Position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile multiple bank accounts
• Provide accounting support to all other department managers and staff (billing and collections, marketing and sales, call center, clinical)
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
• Assist with monthly close and producing financial statements
• Assist in the financial duties of starting up new markets
• Manage merchant account reconciliation and issues and PCI compliance
• Work with insurance claims team on claims funds reconciliation
• Manage petty cash and cash deposits with surgery managers
• Manage intercompany transfers and funding sheets
• Handle equipment asset accounts and loans
• Annually handle 1099’s and unclaimed property

Skills

• Work experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting principles and procedures
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Experience with cash management and bank reconciliations
• Experience with monthly close and preparing financial statements
• Experience with intercompany transfers and merchant account reconciliation
• Experience handling 1099’s and unclaimed property
• Experience supporting and interfacing with other departments in a customer-service-oriented way
• Experience with multi-location and multi-entity operations
• Experience working with billing and collections teams is a plus
• Experience managing other accounting staff members is a plus
• Experience in a dental support organization is a plus

• QuickBooks: 3+ years (Required)
