Job summary

Wisdom Teeth Guys is seeking an Assistant Controller to help develop accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures. This fully remote role supports practices across Utah, Texas, and Arizona for a rapidly expanding dental services organization.

You will monitor financial status, assist with month-end close, and collaborate with department managers to streamline billing, collections, and reconciliations. Strong GAAP knowledge and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and accounting procedures required.
• Experience with general ledger, AP/AR, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with monthly close and producing financial statements.
• Experience with intercompany transfers and merchant account reconciliation.
• Experience handling 1099s and unclaimed property.
• Experience managing staff and interfacing with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
• Provide accounting support to department managers and staff (billing and collections, marketing and sales, call center, clinical).
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
• Assist with monthly close and producing financial statements.
• Assist in the financial duties of starting up new markets.
• Manage merchant account reconciliation and PCI compliance.
• Work with insurance claims team on claims funds reconciliation.
• Manage petty cash and cash deposits with surgery managers.
• Manage intercompany transfers and funding sheets.
• Handle equipment asset accounts and loans.
• Annually handle 1099s and unclaimed property.

As Assistant Controller, you'll assist in monitoring the company's financial status and managing day to day accounting transactions.

Position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile multiple bank accounts
• Provide accounting support to all other department managers and staff (billing and collections, marketing and sales, call center, clinical)

Requirements

Skills

• Work experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting principles and procedures
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Experience with cash management and bank reconciliations
• Experience with monthly close and preparing financial statements
• Experience with intercompany transfers and merchant account reconciliation
• Experience handling 1099's and unclaimed property
• Experience supporting and interfacing with other departments in a customer-service-oriented way
• Experience with multi-location and multi-entity operations
• Experience working with billing and collections teams is a plus
• Experience managing other accounting staff members is a plus
• Experience in a dental support organization is a plus

Experience:

• QuickBooks: 3+ years (Required)
• Accounting Management: 5+ years (Required)

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
