ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
REMOTE ROLE
SUMMARY
The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing the accounting operations of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) team to deliver financial reporting for an international professional services organization with staffing and consulting divisions in a multi-currency environment.
Seeking a focused, detailed individual with a history of success as Assistant Controller to be a key member of the CFO team responsible for delivering the monthly consolidated financials to stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Month-end close activities and financial reporting for delivery of monthly financial statements encompassing multi-currency transactions for US and Europe entities using Net Suite One World.
- Recording multi-currency payroll entries and payroll account reconciliations.
- Invoicing based on reported hours on project timecards, accounts receivable collections and sending dunning statements.
- Finance and accounting support for the Astrix Consulting Services business unit involving
- Collaboration with operations and sales teams to address and resolve invoicing issues.
- Record accounting entries for revenue recognition, deferred revenue, advanced billings, and expenses.
- Month-end close responsibilities to record revenue, expense, bonus, and commission accruals.
- Management of expense reporting and reimbursement of expenses.
- Manage the data flow of information needed for recording transactions.
- Perform balance sheet account and profit and loss account reconciliations.
- Recording intercompany payroll and expense allocations, elimination, and consolidation entries.
- Consolidated financial reporting by business unit and supporting schedules.
- Managing, mentoring, and providing direction and guidance to direct reports.
- Cash management and treasury activities.
- Management and issuance of certificates of insurance.
- Supporting financial and international audits by providing supporting documentation and coordination with team members and other business units.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and partnership with other business units to implement company initiatives and goals.
- Liaison with external auditors and tax teams.
- VAT tax, sales tax and various reporting and compliance filings.
- Year-end tax reporting and filings.
- Year-end 1099 reporting.
- Quality control review of work product and deliverables for accuracy.
- Organized tracking of action items and follow up.
- Fast-paced interactive responses to inquiries, action items and requests to provide information.
- Collaboration with team members to research and resolve any issues.
- Other tasks supporting the financial month end deliverables of the CFO Team.
- Regular and consistent attendance with ability to perform work and engage with team members and third parties during EST business hours is an essential function of this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Certified Public Accountant or Master’s in Accounting preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Minimum 7+ years managerial experience leading an accounting team and managing the month-end close process.
- Experience serving in a role as Assistant Controller/Controller in a Consulting/ professional services business model. Will consider Staffing industry.
- Proficiency and expertise using Net Suite One World in a multi-currency environment for consolidated financial statement reporting.
- Experienced leader in the month-end close process and delivery of monthly financials.
- Successful at multitasking and meeting deliverable timelines.
- Proficient with Outlook, Teams meetings, sharing Teams files, advanced excel and word skills.
- Collaboration skills to partner with team members and leadership team and business units.
- Excellent time management and task prioritization abilities.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skillset.
- Excellent communication skills providing detailed information.
- Quality control review of work product.
- Ability to thrive in an extremely fast‑paced environment with time sensitive interactive responses to emails and action items.
- Prioritizing deliverables so that other team members have information they need to perform their tasks.
- Ability to quickly become an expert.
- Strong aptitude for technology.
- Possess solid logic, writing and language skills.
- Be detailed and organized with excellent follow-up skills.
