The Assistant Controller serves as a management resource of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas with accountability for supervising or performing the day-to-day operations of the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue, and expense areas. The role involves maintaining internal control safeguards and reporting systems to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Knowledge of GAAP, Uniform Administrative Requirements for Federal Awards, and developing reports for management, committees, and the Board is essential.
This role requires a commitment to continuous improvement, implementing systems, policies, and processes that enhance the Finance department’s services. The Assistant Controller will lead in strengthening internal communications and financial literacy across the organization, fostering a positive work environment. The candidate must work well in high transaction volume environments, be organized, technically proficient, and demonstrate integrity, risk assessment skills, and problem-solving abilities.
