We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Controller to join our Carrollton, TX team. This role involves high-level accounting, managerial duties, and overseeing financial activities. The Assistant Controller will assist with full-cycle accounting, reporting, and compliance, reporting directly to the Controller, and helping develop internal financial controls, policies, procedures, and planning.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage month-end and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
2. Collaborate with departments to make informed decisions and prepare accurate job/project reports.
3. Conduct job cost analysis and ensure accurate WIP reporting.
4. Establish and improve internal controls, streamline processes, and implement continuous improvements.
5. Maintain financial data integrity and provide technical accounting support to staff.
6. Complete monthly tax reporting and ensure timely filings.
7. Assist with the annual budget process.
8. Lead and support internal and external audits.
9. Manage Accounts Receivable and Payable, resolving account issues and analyzing cash flow.
10. Ensure adherence to operating procedures and policies.
11. Handle special projects and ad hoc reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, construction experience mandatory.
• Previous staff management experience.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task, think critically, and analyze data.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive results.
• Deep understanding of GAAP principles.
• Experience with AP/AR/GL/Cost Accounting is a plus.
