Overview

We are working with a growing insurance group seeking to add an Assistant Controller to their finance leadership team. This onsite role in Dallas is ideal for someone with a strong background in statutory reporting, GAAP, audit management, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy in GAAP and statutory financials.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Oversee internal controls and prepare for audits (internal and external).
• Handle regulatory filings, including NAIC submissions and other compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with actuarial, tax, and cross-functional teams to ensure transparency and strategic alignment.
• Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Support financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-10+ years of experience in P&C insurance accounting or financial reporting.
• At least 3 years in a managerial leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and STAT reporting.
• Experience with enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar.
